Whitetail Update #1

Ah… Sweet November! The best time of the entire year is finally upon us. Here’s a quick recap of October and the plans that lie ahead.

Here in northern Michigan the activity has been pretty slow. The weather has cooperated with some timely cold fronts but that hasn’t resulted in any mature buck sightings in my area. No complaints here though, as I was able to harvest two does and fill the freezer back up. Gosh I love backstraps!

Saturday morning, November 4th, my wife and I are heading to Nebraska for a week to hunt the whitetail rut in the midwest. This will be the second year I’ve been able to hunt the farm we have permission on and I am looking forward to watching my wife experience the rut in big buck country. Un-pressured whitetails, a balanced herd, and good genetics make a perfect recipe for some top notch bow hunting.

My wife, Jen, already has her tag and I will be filming her until she fills it. By sitting together, we will keep the pressure on the farm as low as possible and hopefully both have an opportunity at a mature buck.

I’ll be posting to social media daily. If you would like to follow along with how our week unfolds, give Hybrid-Outdoors a Like on Facebook and be sure to follow on Instagram.

Your whole season can change in a matter of seconds. Get ready and hold on tight. Good luck and shoot straight!
